Our Experienced Team

Our managing director is EurIng Allan T. Larsen CEng CMarEng FRINA FIMarEST FCMS AVI.
Allan commenced his career in 1987 as a Marine Engineer Cadet and has since held positions at sea and ashore. His experience includes ship design, ship construction, ship repair and the class and statutory matters of ships and offshore floating units, including audits, surveys, consulting, expert witness and providing training courses to the maritime industry.
During his career Allan has held roles as a seagoing engineer, shoreside marine engineer, design engineer and commissioning engineer for new construction vessels and as a surveyor and auditor for a major IACS member classification society where he was also Head of Section for Damage and Repair for seven years, based in Paris. His experience therefore covers many aspects of shipping from initial design concept, construction, through service life, to disposal.
Allan holds the status of Registered European Engineer, Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marine Engineer as well as being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and Fellow of the Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveys (SCMS). Additionally, he is a recognised IMCA Approved Vessel Inspector.
Today, Allan provides survey, consulting, auditing (ISM, MLC, ISPS), expert witness and training services at Larsens Marine Surveyors & Consultants Ltd.

Lynsey Larsen became a director of the company in 2014 having been instrumental in its initial set up and binging our services to the market.
Lynsey focusses on the financial aspects of the business and managing the schedules of long-term projects. Lynsey joined the maritime industry in 2013 when she commenced her maritime studies and obtained a Distinction in the Lloyds Maritime Academy Diploma in Small Craft Surveying. Her diploma added to her accounting qualifications gained earlier in her career and aided in the early development of the company.
Today Lynsey is key to the smooth running of our operations as a business, and to ensuring that the services which we provide are on time, legally compliant, and as required by our customers.

Gemma Hancock EngTech, MarEngTech, MIMarEST, MCMS
Providing Surveys and Technical Support is GEMMA HANCOCK. Gemma joined the company in 2021 and brought with her a wealth of maritime technical knowledge accrued during her 12 years at sea as a marine engineer officer and in her 7 years as Technical Superintendent.
Since joining the company, Gemma has achieved a Distinction in the Lloyds Maritime Academy Diploma in Marine Surveying which adds to her extensive practical experience making her a highly valued team member.
Gemma holds authorisation for surveys from several Flag State Administrations and today performs surveys of boats and ships for insurance purposes, pre-purchase, damage & repair surveys, MCA Code of Practice and both the class and statutory matters. Additionally, she is a recognised IMCA Approved Vessel Inspector.
Today Gemma is a member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and is registered as both an Engineering Technician and as a Marine Engineering Technician.
