Training and education is considered to be an essential element in many aspects of the marine and offshore industries and can lead to our clients businesses becoming more efficient, reducing operational downtime of ships and offshore units, reducing risk and improving safety.
We are engaged in education and training are “trained trainers” who also have experience in the matters which they deliver education and training services. This arrangement allows Larsens Marine Surveyors and Consultants to provide realistic training, in simple language, that actually works in the real world, based on real events and actual circumstances.
Training and education has been identified as a key factor in staff retention and therefore brings added value from a human resources perspective. Staff will feel valued when their employers take the time and effort to identify training needs and to then provide the necessary resources and materials to perform this. As Larsens Marine Surveyors and Consultants ‘trained trainers’ we can identify your training and education needs both ashore and on board ships / offshore floating units. Once these education and training needs have been identified Larsens Marine Surveyors and Consultants can work with clients to produce and deliver the necessary material using various formats and means of delivery including workshops, classroom sessions, reading material and on board training sessions. Our classroom training session can be developed as short courses of half a day up to full five day courses. Larsens Marine Surveyors and Consultants recommend a maximum class size of 20 Delegates.
On occasion, we may advise that accompanied ‘on the job’ training may be more beneficial than a formal training session. This education and training involves our trained trainers accompanying your staff on-board or ashore , as they perform their usual tasks and observing how they perform their role. Habit can be a positive or negative contribution to the running of your business, but staff who perform their tasks by habit can become complacent. Larsens Marine Surveyors and Consultants can assist staff in breaking habits, identifying their own opportunities for improvement and simply encouraging them to stop and revaluate what may have become for them nothing more than routine, by performing accompanied training sessions.
